Journey overview

Five days across Guizhou's greatest hits—privately

Natural wonders and living culture, at the pace they deserve—far from the coach-tour scramble.

From your base in Guiyang, we trace Guizhou's finest: Huangguoshu, the largest waterfall in Asia; the impossibly jade-green rivers and pools of Libo Xiaoqikong, "the green gem on the earth's jade belt"; and Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, a thousand wooden households terraced up the hillside, where you'll stay the night and try a hands-on Miao craft.

Then Day 4 is yours to shape—an ancient town, a painted grassland, an underground cave adventure, or a mountain park—before a final, easy day in Guiyang. Fully private throughout, with 24-hour airport transfers and a guide who reads both the landscape and the culture.

Ideal for

First-time visitors to Guizhou, families, and photographers who want the headline scenery and real Miao culture without the logistics.

Why we designed this journey

The headline sights—without the tour-bus grind

Guizhou's distances are long and its big-group tours are relentless: dawn starts, packed coaches, a rushed hour at each stop, and a hard-sell shopping detour on the way back. We kept the same must-see route—Huangguoshu, Xiaoqikong, Xijiang—but made it private and humane. You travel by your own car on your own clock, sleep the night inside the Miao village rather than a distant city, and let your guide handle the tickets, the timing, and the crowds. And because Day 4 is a genuine free choice, the trip flexes to whether you'd rather wander an old town or go caving underground.

Detailed itinerary

The Journey, Day by Day

A suggested flow—every element is private, flexible, and shaped around you as we go.

01Day · Arrival

Arrive in Guiyang, the "Forest City"

Fly in from anywhere in China and you'll be met at the airport or station by your private driver—part of a 24-hour transfer service, whatever time you land. We settle you into your Guiyang hotel, the leafy, mild-weathered capital that makes an easy first night.

If your arrival is early, there's time for a first taste of Guizhou—a bowl of the province's famous sour-soup or a stroll by the Jiaxiu Tower on the Nanming River—before an unhurried evening to rest for the days ahead.

02Day · Huangguoshu

Asia's mightiest waterfall

This morning we drive to Huangguoshu, the largest waterfall in Asia—a seventy-metre curtain of white water you'll hear long before you see it. We take the full route, including the walkway that ducks into the cave behind the falls, and the surrounding parks of smaller cascades and travertine pools.

In the afternoon we continue south to Libo, checking into your hotel near tomorrow's emerald pools, with the roar of the day still ringing pleasantly in your ears.

03Day · Xiaoqikong & Xijiang

Emerald pools, then a night in the Miao village

The morning belongs to Libo Xiaoqikong—the "Small Seven Arches"—where rivers run an unreal jade green between karst hills, old stone bridges span turquoise pools, and short forest trails link waterfall to waterfall. It's rightly called "the green gem on the earth's jade belt."

By evening we reach Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, a thousand timber houses stacked up the mountainside and mirrored in the river below. You'll stay the night here—watch the whole valley light up after dark, share a Miao welcome, and try a hands-on craft or DIY experience among the people who keep it alive.

04Day · Your choice

One province, five ways to spend the day

After a slow morning in the village, today is entirely yours—choose one experience on the way back toward Guiyang, and we'll build the day around it:

Qingyan Ancient Town — a walled Ming-dynasty town of stone gates and lanes · Longli Oil-Painting Grassland — rolling meadows of wildflowers · Feilong Cave — an underground caving adventure through a vast limestone cavern · Red Ribbon — Guiyang's immersive Long March experience · Qianling Mountain — a forested city park with wild macaques and a hilltop temple.

05Day · Farewell

A last taste of Guiyang, then homeward

Your final morning is a relaxed "eat and stroll" through Guiyang—the province's celebrated street food, a lively market, a last souvenir—at whatever pace suits your flight.

When it's time, your private driver returns you to the airport or station (again, at any hour), and you leave Guizhou having seen its wildest scenery and its warmest culture, all without a single early-morning coach.
